OSHA’s Agency Priority Goal for 2018 aims to reduce trenching and excavation hazards. According to the Bureau of Labor Statistics, excavation and trench-related fatalities in 2016 were nearly double the average of the previous five years. OSHA’s goal is to increase awareness of trenching hazards in construction, educate employers and workers on safe cave-in prevention solutions, and decrease the number of trench collapses.

OSHA plans to issue public service announcements, support the National Utility Contractors Association’s 2018 Trench Safety Stand Down, update online resources on trench safety, and work with other industry associations and public utility companies to create an effective public-private effort to save lives. OSHA’s trenching and excavation national emphasis program is also currently under revision. For more information on trench safety, visit OSHA’s safety and health topics page.

Catch Hazards more quickly with our Safety Observation App! Our app allows employees to quickly and easily record “one-off” safety observations.

Employee Participation
Now employees can take their safety into their own hands by having the capability to make quick observations. Employees have the option to send the observations anonymously.

One-Off Observations
Our observation app helps you make quick observations in no time at all. Our simple app helps you communicate positive or negative observations to whoever.

Training Opportunity
Print off PDFs of the reports to train employees on proper safety procedures, or award positive safety behaviors.

Our Reports
Schedule daily, weekly or monthly “Observation Reports” and have them delivered in Excel via email to designated contacts. Observations categorized as “High Severity” will be delivered in real-time via email. The system also includes a dashboard page that can be accessed from your Administrative Account.
