Crown Roofing, LLC, was fined $149,662 for exposing employees to fall hazards. After being inspected as part of OSHA’s Regional Emphasis Program for Falls in Construction, the company was cited for one repeat violation for failing to use a guardrail, safety net, or personal fall arrest system to protect workers.
“This employer is risking the safety of workers by failing to comply with fall protection requirements,” said Condell Eastmond, OSHA Fort Lauderdale Area Office Director. “Fall hazards are well known, but they can be eliminated when workers are trained and protective equipment is properly used.”
Crown Roofing LLC has 15 business days from receipt of its citations and proposed penalties to comply, request an informal conference with OSHA’s area director, or contest the findings before the independent Occupational Safety and Health Review Commission.
