Wagner-Meinert LLC Recognized for Outstanding Safety Practices by the State of Tennessee

Tennessee OSHA Assistant Commissioner Wendy Fisher recognized Wagner-Meinert LLC of Nashville, Tennessee, for its initial certification as a TOSHA Safety and Health Achievement Recognition Program (SHARP) site, a designation the location earned in 2019. This program recognizes small business employers who have used TOSHA’s , On-Site Consultative Services Program, and operate exemplary safety and health programs. Acceptance into SHARP is an achievement of status that singles the company out among its business peers as a model for worksite safety and health.

The U.S. Department of Labor’s Occupational Safety and Health Administration  Concord Area Office, the NH Governor’s Office, Recovery Friendly Workplace (RFW) and WorkWise NH / OSHA Consultation Program recognize the value of establishing a collaborative relationship to foster safer and more healthful American workplaces. To that end, OSHA, the NH Governor’s Office, RFW and Workwise NH hereby form an Alliance to provide healthcare professionals, businesses, trade organizations and others with information, guidance, and access to training resources to help protect workers, particularly by raising awareness of physical well-being and promoting individual wellness for Granite Staters by empowering workplaces to provide support for people recovering from substance use disorders in the community and workplace.

U.S. Department of Labor Orders New York Carrier to Compensate Former Seaman Fired After Cooperation with Federal Investigation of Explosion

A whistleblower investigation by the U.S. Department of Labor’s Occupational Safety and Health Administration  has found that Bouchard Transportation Company Inc., B. No. 272 Corp – a petroleum barge company based in Melville, New York – and its officers violated the whistleblower protection provisions of the Seaman’s Protection Act (SPA) when it retaliated against a seaman who cooperated with U.S. Coast Guard (USCG).
